Re: AOL problems broadband

I know nothing about computers but PC is cira 1999 or 2000 . It was state of the art then

Its 733mgz (or what ever) . I know now they are about 2000 or 3000

I was told by AOL it was ok when i sign up for broadband platimum service, said to be 20 times faster.

Im using everying supplied by AOL and it worked fine for first week

Then no connection after 10 calls they checked line and when i got home it worked fine again for a day or two. In fact it didnt kick me off

Then couldn't get on , PC said couldnt find phone connection but there is

Loads of calls to AOL . My modem and power light is on etc etc

I was going to either get windows XP ?? (the latest and put that on) but they said i would need re formating ??

My pc never shuts down now i have to switch it of and i seem now to have 3 virus that are quarnteened. I have Spyware (paid for product) . Tons of old games on computer (someone said that might be a problem)

Or get a new PC . I like the newer flat screens

My mate is a bit IT but not much , any suggestions ??
