My advice would be to wear something that you're not going to get too hot in, and if you can use the principle of dressing in layers that would make sense.

It can be daunting going to somewhere on your own for the first time, but you'll pretty soon get to know people - you don't have to go with a "partner" and in fact the teaching method means that you'll learn to dance with lots of different guys on a rotation system, and they should all at least introduce themselves.

The Aberdeen clubs and teachers are top class, so at least give it a try - what have you got to lose? Good luck.
