| Re: You Tube Dance videos Looking at youtube and videogoogle it's good to see that there is a slowly increasing modern jive content and that some of that is quality stuff.
However, if I were an ordinary interested surfer who was looking to see what this modern jive dancing m'larkey I'd happened to hear or read about was, what would I find?
Well, apparently, in Australia, there is a version of modern jive called Ceroc which seems to be very popular and they even produce instructional videos. It also seems to be quite estalished in Germany too. However, modern jive hardly seems to exist in England but there is a version called Leroc which seems to be flourishing in Scotland run by an enterprising fellow called Billy Glasgow (is that for real?). And he posts a few video clips of couples dancing Leroc who make it look very interesting and professional. Nigel and Nina, in particular impress by injecting fun and humour into the dance.
Ultimitely, further surfing would eventually reveal that Britain is the true home of Ceroc and that it is the major Modern Jive organisation. Though I would probably have lost interest and never got that far.
I can't help feeling that Ceroc™ (thank you, Pagemaker memory) is missing a golden opportunity to publicise itself in a medium which is growing exponentially and is to all intents and purposes free. |
