Just as an aside, I have found that by not doing what your partner is expecting (or leading you into) and being more forceful about these moves, they relinquish the lead.
OK so it sometimes takes two or three surprises.
My very first ceroc dance was with a woman that lead very strongly from the off; mainly because she thought I didn't know what I was doing
