What type do you have? And what is the problem?
I've worn gas permeables for 2 years at a stretch, but I think that an optician would want you to replace them every 6-12 months, for the health of your eyes. However, I always took excellent care of mine, had my eyes checked regularly and never had a problem (till I stopped wearing them for a while and then lost my tolerance

) So if you're on gas permeables and it's over 6 months old, they'll probably tell you it's time to change it anyway.
I'm now on monthly disposables. Current pair I think there might be something wrong with one (it keeps clouding up, and the solution isn't getting rid of it properly) so I'll probably take it back and get them to change it. I'm on a monthly contract, so I don't anticipate a problem.
