I don't think it's so much the stance or posing, as the disruption of the thought process: I can pose and spin with the best of them (Perhaps not as well as them...) but when you expect to catch a hand on a beat and it's not there, or you try to mirror a spin and the lady does a double spin; just little 'glitches' that throw off the timing and make it look less than it could be.

Not at all - I was just using it as an example; I think that the men should either lead into a double spin (giving a bit more 'oomph' than normal or spinning from the hips instead of hands) OR should be given warning.

| great in an ideal world gadget , but the reality is that this does not happen very often and it then when it does it is usually with more confident and experienced leaders. |
Something to aspire to then

. But should you try and
take the initiative with less experianced leaders ? I think that only the more experianced or 'good' dancers will actually give you the space to move - it is a led dance, and ultimatly should be up to the lead as to how much freedom to give their partner.
