I'd forgotten about how much I was intimidated by thge B&Ws when I first started. As said they were always the reserve of the advanced dancers. THEN, from '99 onward Blochs came out and all the superstars started wearing them .... then all the teachers started wearing them. It used to be a good way of sussing out who was an experienced dancer .. just look for the Blochs .... Now, EVERBODY wears them ... even if they've only been dancing a few months. Dont really know why .. I found them quite hard to dance in to begin with and they still catch me out of I get off balance.

As for B&Ws ... they seem to be more and more the refuge of the Lindy Hopper. I wonder what the status symbol of the advanced dancer is these days? The ULTIMATE symbol is still A HAT! See Messr Nigel and a few others of the Elite on the London circuit ..... not sure if a bandana counts though LL?
