I would highly recommend canon printers (
www.canon.co.uk). You can select a printer and they will send you a picture so you have an idea of the quality to expect.
They have just launched the PIXMA iP3000 and iP4000, which are both quality, cheap photo printers starting at about £80.
I have to say though for printing that amount of photos you would be better taking advantage of the 50 for £5 deals that Boots and other photo printers do. Printing them at home costs far more after accounting for paper, ink and printer costs.
