Problem now is, has this beginner I'm now dancing with been coming long enough to know the move? Also, in my experience, it is not going to be taught in the intermediate class and even if I'm eventually proved wrong it will only at very long intervals. Verdict: bad change.
In my experience, this is a move which can be led without the beginner lady having been taught it. I've also learnt about 5 variations in the past couple of months, so it doesn't seem to have been dropped from the intermediate classes.
