Oh but I love that combination - and similar. The only real difficulty is when you have a very sticky floor.

That is an absolutely key part of following. The other is to match the tension that the man has in the lead. When you have a lady who does both these things, you can lead her into virtually any move.

Re the hatchback - I can't remember the last time I led one. For some reason I've never liked it.

I don't know about a "hatch-back" per say, but I tend to do similar but step backwards and to the side that I just spun the lady so that I can collect her on my other side... I don't know if I turn or not; freestyle is a bit messy compared to class moves.

Don't ask me to name moves!! ; they are all different variations of "spinny thing here with a catch and slide twiddly bit"
{Just ask anyone I've danced with in classes who has asked me the name of the move we were doing - I tend to get a few 'this bloke's a nutter' looks... and that's before we've even started dancing! }

I actually can't remember the name for a few basic moves, and keep getting the names wrong {or mixed up}, so any notes I take tend to be with my own names for bits of moves.

I think that most people have had at least one of those... although normally it's the lady's who complain about getting hit in the face!
