Re: By way of introduction...

Hello to all!
Finally getting round to doing this after my first post when Lory suggested I should. The welcome from Gordon J, Lory and Gordy was typicall of the open friendship we have found within Ceroc.
My wife and I joined in Sept last year after attending a wedding in the Chester area and seeing my best friends daughter and partner dancing.
I found the information on this website, as we had never heard of it before and had no idea how active it was in Aberdeen
Loving it and wish we had found it sooner
Just been to the Scottish championship at the weekend and was totally impressed by the the whole event, so well organised and such talented dancers.
Got persuaded at the last minute to enter the lucky dip and was partnered by the amazingly talented Lindsay (of Scintillating Sinner fame)
and what about those dresses!
Lindsay, if you read this, I am sure glad you did not wear it when you were dancing with me or you would have been picking me up off the floor!
Congrats on your success and thanks for being such a good sport

Dave

Hi everyone,

I've just discovered the forum after meeting a couple of you lovely people in Musselburgh over the weekend - great forum, lively and full of friendly people, wish I'd found you all sooner

I'm Claire, I've been dancing for just over 5 years, still have surreal memories of being a beginner - trying to get the hang of spinning with the aid of a wooden broom handle in front of MTV and struggling to remember all four moves by the end of the beginners class.

I learned to dance at Plymouth Jive Club, followed by short time in London and now Durham, so local venues are Blitz and Ceroc in Newcastle and the occasional Saturday night at Stockport. My partner Jonny also dances.

That's it from me, hope to see some of you at Southport in September and Warmwell in November.

Welcome to the forum Claire

I won't be doing either of those weekenders, but maybe meet you in Newcastle the day before the BFG? (We're planning to do Lynn Smith's class - is that Ceroc or something else?)

That's the Blitz one.

And if you're lucky, you'll see Johnny and Claire doing the class there!!

See you on the 11th Claire (as well as at Southport)?

What's on the 11th?

Yep, definitely see you at Southport - I've asked if it's ok for me to meet up with y'all on the Friday night (I'm only doing it for the badgers)

There's a blues workshop being run by Blitz in Durham, followed by a dance with two rooms - one playing the usual modern jive blend, and the other playing swing and blues at the Wallsend venue

Hello from another newbie!!

I've finally got round to registering on here

I'm based in Chertsey (NW Surrey), and dance 2 or 3 nights a week, usually at Woking/Aldershot/Fleet. Been dancing 5 years or so, and love every bit of it!.

I've already met a few of you in Barcelona this month (come on out of your shell Sandie ).

I look forward to getting to know you all in due course ...ok, maybe not THAT well!

Hi Danielle!

I'm a fellow newbie to the forum (joined just a few days ago), so it's great for me not to feel alone in this big wide e-world!

I'm a little less of a newbie when it comes to dancing, but believe me, I still remember my first night as though it were yesterday.....and sometimes, my dancing even now, feels like I'm a beginner!

If you're letting yourself go, and have become besotted with dance, then you have already covered the biggest tip anyone could ever give you.....that's to have fun!!

Welcome!
