Rep Power: 0 Rep.: 14 | Hello, My name is Jacob, and I took the first tentative step into the world of ceroc a few weeks ago at a class on Byer's Road, Glasgow. The initial panic has now turned into an addiction, and I am revelling in the realisation that I am making good progress. I have met some very nice people along the way, and every event has been enjoyable for the music and workout. A special thank you to Marie, Bruntz and Franck for the huge help they've been. JB |

Rep Power: 0 Rep.: 14 | Awfully sweet of you to reply pronto! Didn't see your mail till Wednesday morning, hence was unaware you'd be in Glasgow on Tue. In any case, I did not spot you amongst the milling crowds - not even the T-shirt! Were you there? I'll look out next time. Warm regards ![]() Jacob |

Sorry - was out for the count with a migraine - will try again on this Tuesday (3rd) If I'm at any class I usually arrive for the beginner's classes so I can warm up. If you don't spot me before I change my kit, then most harassed leaders (Franck, Pretzel, McJester, CJ etc etc) should be able to point me out. Cheers Whitetiger Quote:

Hi everyone I'm Dreadful Scathe, although my real name is Flixi Trix Bella Donna the 3rd. I recently started Ceroc at a LeRoc class in Brighton. I work as an "annoyer" at Heathrow Terminal 5 (it's sort of like an American Style "greeter"). I've found these MJ lessons help with my memory loss and make me more decisive. Well, I think they do. Possibly.

Rep Power: 1 Rep.: 12 | Re: By way of introduction... Hi Everyone I started MJ in Jan 2007, since then I have gained in confidence (not in dancing yet, but with asking men to dance! ) and am totally hooked. I love the fact that it is also exercise that I actually enjoy doing!. I first came with my friend who doesn't come anymore, but love that MJ is not only a dance class but also a social occassion, where I have made some good friends. Since starting uni I have found it harder to fit everything in, yet always find time to go to my weekly class(es). Iam glad I found this forum as I have found it helpful and definitly insightful! ![]() Its great to know that there is a community of dancers around the country, how ever far afield I may venture. I can't wait to go to my first weekender in october, and start entering the world of WCS this summer, just got to find myself a dance partner now! Ellen |

If you tell us whereabout you dance (even roughly) then I'm sure the dancers in the area will get in touch... Indeed you might already know some of them by sight at class. - It took me a while to pin down a few forum names at the Glasgow classes. Whitetiger

Rep Power: 2 Rep.: 214 ![]() ![]() | Re: By way of introduction... Hi Ellen and welcome! You can take what you want from the forum. There's a lot of good information, some really helpful stuff, some funny bits, a few interesting discussions and the occasional heated argument (joining in is strictly optional). Everyone is pretty friendly really. One or two formites have their "moments" but its generally best not to take some of the things that are said too seriously and remember that internet forums are an imperfect means of communication. For instance in spite of appearances to the contrary Rocky and Caro are very much in love. I see that you are going to your first week-ender in October. If that is Breeze then I expect to be there so do ask me for a dance. I can normally be found in the blues room or in the bar area at Breeze where I might do a spot of DJ'ing. I have been known to wear a sparkly T-shirt with my forum name on it. Can't promise any WCS though. |

Rep Power: 0 Rep.: 10 | Re: By way of introduction... Hiya, I hope you guys will forgive a foreigner for intruding, but Ceroc in Perth, Australia has no forum of its own. I'm Dave, I started dancing modern jive (well, trying anyway) a couple of months ago. I'm about as uncoordinated and arrhythmic as they come, and may need to tap your collective wisdom and expertise in my endeavour to dance without elbowing the brave and charitable ladies in the face or tripping up neighbouring couples. Cheers, -Dave |
