"Is it just me or is everything sh&t?" - just bought myself this as an early Christmas pressie and it's great.

I've found my spiritual home, 200+ pages of classic whingeing about everything from Ikea to the Daily Mail. Ahhh, bliss....

I  Edward Monkton

I shall probably just do my usual "I'm completely disorganised buy everything from one shop" this year (I'm a bloke in a woman's body) - and bookshops are always good for all ages

Recommendations for good kids books appreciated (ages range from 4 to 14)

"The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's child" are good for the lower end of your range - they're nice and easy to read, they flow well, and the illustrations are great IMO.

The Timewaster Letters - Robin Cooper

Literally laugh out loud funny - but more of a "bookshelf in the loo" than a "read cover-to-cover" book. There's a second book too.

Funny for similar reasons but also very interesting (and ejukashonul, innit): see here.

Saw this today while Christmas shopping and had a quick peek. Yes, I could see it appealing to you DJ! And to quite a few on this forum actually! What I read was very amusing.

Didn't get it as I had already bought myself a pair of gloves and a purse (with a little strap so I can carry it round my wrist when carrying drinks back to my seat when out dancing) and I was supposed to be Christmas shopping for presents!
