What's the best Summer 2007 film for you?

Summer 2007 has been a great time for new films, but what one do you think is the best?

Re: What's the best Summer 2007 film for you?

So far i've only seen Shrek and HP, both were a bit disappointing. Entertaining enough, but they didn't live up to expectations (like alot of things in life ) I'm taking the kids to see Simpsons next week and I would like to go to see Hairspray too, although i'm not sure that the kids will want to come with me to see that.

Re: What's the best Summer 2007 film for you?

Have seen HP in 3D at the IMAX - now the 3D bits were just too cool- especially seen on that massive screen!!

Haven't been to see anything else yet - though hope to go and see Hairspray at the very least.... Being trapped in an office for most of the "summer" means no matinees for me

Re: What's the best Summer 2007 film for you?

Due to time and financial constaints I've not seen many films this year. HP was pretty good though (all things considered) and I've yet to see Shrek 3rd or Transformers yet. I get paid next week.. so you never know I may change my vote.

I did see Fantastic 4 : rise of the silver surfer.. and no.. I won't be voting for that even if it did have the "I've been there!" moment when the surfer "attacked" London .. Entertaining but not great cinema.

Re: What's the best Summer 2007 film for you?

I've seen Shrek3 and HP5, was disappointed with both. Shrek because they're running out of ideas and HP because it felt like 2 and a half hours of a 'recently on Harry Potter' recap before a next episode. Maybe that's a little unfair, since I'd only just read the book and so knew everything that was supposed to happen that didn't, but that's just how it felt to me.

I can't really be bothered with the Simpsons movie, and Evan Almighty just looks silly (although could be a laugh).

Transformers on the other hand, I've been waiting for eagerly for months. And Hairspray looks like pure retro chic, so I'm looking forward to that too.

I vote for Die Hard 4

It has no real plot, romance or character depth, but lots of stuff gets blown up

Yes Shrek was very dissapointing, i felt it was really rushed and was very dry, Harry Potter was quite long but i really enjoyed it, and the book is much longer so they done well trying to cram most of it in. Simpsons movie is fantastic, one of the best comedies iv seen in a while and Evan Almighty does look silly but could be a laugh.

TRANSFORMERS was the best!!!! Full of action etc. Of course a few things were changed not all of it stuck to the cartoon but i won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it

The sequal is due out in 2009 They'll be more charactors

I did enjoy Transformers, but only the bits when no-one talked. Every time one of the actors / actresses actually tried to say any of the dialogue (without having hysterics, a nervous breakdown, or just a bout of suicidal depression at the sheer inane awfulness of their lines) the whole thing just fell apart.

Great effects though.

(not sure what you mean about not spoiling things - the film would have needed an actual plot to be spoilable... )
