Oh so true! Difficult to get back into that mind set at the moment unfortunately but have at least upped the excercise and decreased some of the sweet 'treats' I seem to have been consuming! ![]() Hope salad counts as I eat a lot of that, especially tomatoes and peppers! Need to work on the veg! ![]()

She drank a lot of tins of SlimFast's opposite one for putting on weight. It was a long time ago - don't know if they still make it. Also it didn't seem to make any difference.

For example, if you are a skimmed milk drinker, have a bash at full fat. And not necessarily just 'blue-top'. Get the gold-top down you. I know that the fat content of this type of food may cause some concern, but have a wee look at a handy little website by the name of : Weston A. Price Foundation for an objective view of nutrition. I use this website a lot, as did my learning provider when I was going through my qualifications. The benefits of eating increased dietary fats are quite extensive. Be aware however, that you must take in carbohydrate and protein. I am in no way suggesting eating a fat only diet (a la Atkins)....v.dodgy and decidedly not cool.

to be on the end of a broken jaw! So as not to lose too much weight I was given a 'meal drink', called (If I remember rightly) Ensure?? Basically it contained all the vit's and min's in a drink. It tasted absolutely honking. The protein drinks available do sometimes work but again, you have to be a little careful. Whey protein isolate - a common ingrediant of a Holland & Barratt supplement actually started life as an industrial waste product. Most are heat treated which in turn means they are denatured and quite devoid of any goodness. To counter this they are rammed chock full of additives, sweeteners, preservatives, flavourings etc which can have an extremely detrimental effect on the body. If purchasing a protein powder try to find one that is 'cold-processed', alternately, eat more meat, eggs, dairy and possibly nutty types of food which contain fats and complementary proteins, also they are quite energy dense. Loads to take in, sorry for the info overload. Hopefully some of it may help. J.

Just be cautious of all the media that suggests eating animal based produce is bad but if you go down the synthetic, heavily processed lower-fat foods...you'll be fit and healthy. It's always worth questioning where your grub comes from...if nothing else it tends to scare the people on the deli counter in Tesco's and ASDA... ![]() J.

Put the packaging of everything you eat and drink in a bag/box for a whole week then have a good look at it. Make piles of what was good nutritionally and what wasn't. Once you know what you REALLY eat, you're in a position to make different choices. I'm going to try it next week!

We tend to 'think' we eat healthily, but again, until you see what you consume in black and white, we don't truly know! Most people I come across with weight management issues are carbohydrate junkies! Everything is carb'. Try not to fall into that trap. |

As with aerobics, every move's been given a name, e.g a 'grapevine' but as you can imagine, every 'name' needed a demonstration, which takes time. (and not that i'm so fantastic myself but some people are soooo uncoordinated, its unreal! ) The girl next to me, didn't know her left from her right and together with the fact the was s-l-o-w, I found I had to use all my concentration to avoid bumping into her or being clobbered by her.![]() Lastly, it wasn't half as energetic as I'd imagined, I'd already done the class before it and to be honest, this was like a cooldown. It'll probably get better but I think i'll leave it a while before giving it another go. As for my diet and exercise regime, sadly I've had to cut out the power walking, as my foot problem (planta fasciitis) doesn't like it. I really miss it and think it was probably the one thing that made the biggest difference. Also the high impact aerobics doesn't like it either (not as much as the walking though) but I'm a wee bit addicted to that, so I suffer. I'm not 'on a diet' anymore, I basically eat what I want but I've continued to eat my main meal at lunchtime and don't eat much at all after 4pm. I've just come back from a holiday, where luckily, the food was fantastically healthy but I confess, I drank bucket loads which I know, completely defeated any good intentions I had with the food! And so now, my trousers are feeling very tight again! Oh well, its back to the gym tomorrow morning, with a double dose of classes, starting with Body Attack, followed by Body Pump.... with the new release 66.. ooh how i love those 'reverse Arnies!' NOT! ![]()

For instance the French women are supposed to be slim on the French diet - although they do look good because they wear tailored clothes and clothes that fit them - unlike the English women, who tend to squeeze themselves into anything they fancy. Turkish women tend to get hefty. Italian women are supposed to run to fat on all the pasta they eat. Japanese and Chinese women tend to stay slim on their rice and fish. The English women like their stodge etc., Quote:

Its in the morning, when I get out of bed that the pain is at its worst! And running and aerobics are bad too but I don't want to stop!Don't laugh but I was recommended to wear special 'splints' at night, so I ordered what I 'thought' was going to be a pair but turned out to be only one (cost £48 ) 'it' came yesterday and looks and feels a bit like a lightweight ski boot, very attractive! I've got to the stage where I'm desperate, so I'll give anything a go but I only managed to keep it on for 10 minutes, it was sheer agony, so its going back again today! ![]() Back to the drawing board!
