tosh ? makes sense to me - doesn't stop you buying them

Can't see that making them 'under the counter' will have the required effect.

A better solution would be to pass a law that all cigarette packets are white with printed text in black only; all brand names to be in a font no larger than 20% of the size of the health warning, and any other manufacturer information no larger than 10%. No logos at all. No Point of sale displays permitted at all.

Cigarette packets will become boring, even if they are on display.

There was a comedian, whose name I forget but on a tape which was made in 1988 said that it was less shameful to buy condoms then cigarettes. He was half joking but today?

Maybe you and he has a point

Although getting in a queue waiting for a smoker to identify the packet he wants under the counter (shop assistant showing 25 packets before they get the right one? maybe not good. However good stuff for the Comedy Clubs)

We put porn on the top shelfs so the kids have to ask adults if they want to have a look. However 'kids today' reach about 6ft by age 5 so guess that makes no difference

The Tory's had the "brilliant" idea, recently, of putting up the price of cigarettes so high, that most people could not afford them.

It would never work, plus, it's just another tax scam.

Wow, that was a weird experience...

I thought this was a s38 post, but by the time I got to the end of it there'd been no spurious uncapitalised words, no weird full stops in the middle of a sentence, no bizarre spelling errors, no grammatical collapse leading to incomprehensibility. "Oh", thinks I, "better check whose post it was; must have been mistaken in thinking it was Stewart..."

i tried hiding my mums cigarettes...it didn't work

all i got was a slap in the face and even though id squashed the packet and threw them into the bin...she still stomped to the shop to buy more...

my theory is once your a smoker and your addicted anything that stops you from smoking makes you more agressive

so hiding mums richmonds really didn't help the situation
