Re: Rescue one thing...............

yeah but my cat is thick, she is only at seven, learning how to use a cat flap and is scared to go outside without me, bless her. So she would probably be burnt to a crisp if i didnt carry her out

I suppose it does depend on the pet. The chair bursts into flames and the goldfish thinks "Oh good, he's coming to recue me."

Re: Rescue one thing...............

Interesting thread.. When I got evacuated cos of the floods in June I was told to remove all "items of value" either out of the house or upstairs.. I promptly took upstairs.. my dance shoes, my pole and my PS2! How random is that My mate kindly reminded me that if I had have gotten flooded that I could have got a newer PS2 or even a PS3 .. guess it was the principle!!!

If there was one thing you could rescue from a (your own) burning house, what would it be ?
Nothing

Leave all your junk at your mums even if you moved out 20yrs ago ?

I do have a diary ive written in on and of since aged 9 but would take 3hrs to find it so would have to be a slow burning house

If you go straight to the place you would have looked in after 3 hours, you'd find it straight away and be able to exit the building quicker no?

See! - I may have just saved a life there!

Assuming that the kids are not in the house (or Craig my husband - thought I better put that in just in case he ever reads this forum!)

My dog would be already out the door... she's a BlueHeeler and a very cluey dog!

So.... I'd grab the kid's baby boxes (you know, the box with all their baby pics and birthday cards etc) and my box filled with stuff from my Dad 'cos they're very treasured possessions and one of my three violins 'cos it has a wonderful tone - really, everything else is pretty much replaceable. I think I could grab all that in one trip. I have to admit though that I keep everything really important in one very handy place so that I could grab it on the way out the door or window...... and far away from the kitchen because that's where most house fires start

And I keep the fire alarms tested!
