Internet Dating sites for losers or winners ?
A friend of mine has just joined a internet dating site (no its not me !) and was convinced it was for sados but was pleasantly suprised by the expereince and has met someone through it

Is this the future of meeting people (for non dancers or even dancers or anyone) ?

One friend found her husband on the net
And quite a few friends have found “their significant others” this way

None of them are nerds, all are dancers and most of the people they have met have become dancers

I also have a friend who 'met' her husband this way and another friend who had lots of fun dates with nice guys - until she met one she 'clicked' with who is now her boyfriend. Both met people suitable for them and met other interesting people along the way.

Dilema I had to face:
I was dating a guy who I met through friends. 6 months later I found him on an internet dating site, photo and profile.
so I joined the site not using my name obviously and he contacted me....long story, but he arranged to meet me. I went. He burst in to tears, I dumped him.

Question: He told me he never met anybody else from the site so by writing/communication online with other women - was he being unfaithful as he did not meet any one else?

Discuss!!!

Thinking it through:

flirting isn't usually considered being unfaithful: having sex is.
therefore:
flirting on net wouldn't be unfaithful: MSN sex would be.

I see nothing wrong in how anyone choses to find their perfect partner, so long as they end up happy together.

Some people are very shy, and therefore internet dating is a great way for them to meet people without having to go through the horrible prospect of a face to face rejection

Each to their own I say!

However, before you answer my sensible point you have some mere trifling issue of why YOU were on that dating site......

To clear up the issue of why I was on the dating site.......my friend found the guy on the site while she was looking for herself and called me to let me know. I was never on the dating site prior to that.

As my profile states though I do prefer speed dating type events. For me it means I never get rejection or as is more usual in my case, have to reject a guy , and for the guys, they never need ask the girl out. All they need to do is indicate a 'yes - I would like that person to have my email address'.
I also feel safe meeting new people in a group in a bar and not someone I met over the internet.

But as for the thread, a number of people find it difficult to meet new people so whether it is internet or face to face meetings the fact is that there are a lot of people out there who do actually want to meet someone. Typically I have found people who I have met to be out going enough to actually go to such and event and that when I speak to them, they have not had hours, days even to come up with a profile statement. They are winners for sure!!

And even the date only lasts for 3-4 minutes....you don't need to buy us drinks, take us out, feed us or anything.
But I will put one criteria down for you personally CJ - black leather kilt is a must!!
