Question Forum Profiles

Given how there has been an increasing trend towards getting to know each other outside cyberspace, thought what might help was a bit more info about each of us ..... well that and the fcat that there seems to be little forum activity at the moment.

So ... in my frre time (which seems to be legion at the moment) put together a series of questions (based on the interviews I've done through my www.ggus.co.uk site).

Please respond at will....

1. Birthplace

Impossible question, but off the top of my head without thinking too much:
The Poisonwood Bible - Babara Kingsolver
Dangerous Parking - Stuart Browne
Any of Dirk Bogarde's autobiographies.

3. 3 Favourite CDs
Ugh. I have over 500 CDs. They are all potentially my favourite on one day or another but recently:

Indigo Swing - Indigo Swing
Tropical Brainstorm - Kirsty MacColl
Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night

4. 3 Favourite Films
Truly Madly Deeply (yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic)
Time Bandits
Brazil.

This list makes it look like I haven't seen a film since 1985! *lol*

5. Most Hated Film
Umm...Can't think of one. I'm sort of not that bothered about films.

6. Favourite Dance Outfit
My regular outfit would be a pair of combats with sequins on and a black vest or t-shirt but my fantasy outfit is probably a bowler hat, black tux jacket, fishnets and a silver topped cane. It's a Bob Fosse thing :sorry

7. Favourite drink
Non-Alcoholic - tea
Alcoholic - Wine

8. Worst Hangover
Last month when I went to a wedding in York. A two day hangover which also involved physiotherapy to get over the injuries incurred, and a new pair of glasses. It was quite a party . I've never felt quite so ill.

9. Best Holiday
Last summer I travelled around Italy by train. It was fantastic. I'd like to go everywhere by train now. Including Ameirca, which you can do by going across the frozen baltic sea, apparently.

11. Childhood dream job
Opera singer

I don't think you mean the Baltic (it's the sea between Scandinavia and Poland/Lithuania/Latvia/Estonia/Russia), but I'm interested to know the real answer, so I'm not just pointlessly nitpicking! (for once!! )

You're right..I've stood on a chair and checked on my map of the world that I keep for such occasions when I need to check my thoroughly awful geographical knowledge - it's the Bering sea/straights which lie between Russia and the US. Hey, it begins with B..... :sorry

Oh! you just reminded me of Whit, by Iain Banks, and now I want to change my favourite books. I'd add Good Omens by Terry Prachett/Neil Gaiman, too. Three isn't enough, really.

Re: Forum Profiles

This post makes interesting reading I notice that several of us have the same taste in books (or perhaps it's just that someone has to buy the best-sellers)

1. Birthplace
Glasgow:Rotten row
2. 3 Favourite Books
Damn - only 3.
1: Guilty Pleasures - Laurell K Hamilton {rave, rave rave - be warned: may look like pulp from the cover, but the series is addictive!}
2: Assassin's Aprentice - Robin Hobb
3=: Good Omens - Neil Gamen & Terry Pratchett
3=: Pyramids - Terry Pratchett
3=: Thomas Covenant series, Belgariad, Lord of the Rings, Potter... how can I keep it down to three !???
3. 3 Favourite CDs
Don't generally like individual artist - I get bored listening to the same 'style' of music for a whole album, so...
1: Latest "Now" album
2: Pop idol's big band CD
3: Born to Ride ("remember; this compilation is not available in stores...")
4. 3 Favourite Films
1: Old oriental martial arts movies (or old oriental vampire movies; they are almost the same)
2: Cerano de bergerac (in french, subtitled.)
3: Most John Cusac films
...missing out several good films as well.
5. Most Hated Film
Meet the feebles. Had to watch it all the way through just to be sure that it was actually as bad as I thought - not even bad enough to be good.
6. Favourite Dance Outfit
To wear; Kilt shirt & combats. To appreciate; 'gypsy' style.
7. Favourite drink
Full fat milk, Full fat Coke-a-cola, water.
8. Worst Hangover
Don't drink, but had a few dehydration hangovers from dancing for about 5-6 hours solid the night before when a student (couldn't do it now, like...)
9. Best Holiday
Sailing around the Yougoslavian coast & islands on a 5 bearth sail-boat with my family (while it still was Yugoslavia)
10. Favourite Game
head to head 1st player shootemup (quake, doom, UT...) or Magic The Gathering (cardgame) or Cyberpunk2020 (real, paper rpg)
11. Childhood dream job
Architect/Lego Creator
12. Real Life Hero
BTC ? I don't aspire to be anyone other than myself - just hone a few skills and develop a few new ones.
13. Closest Brush with Death
never personally had a close brush with Death, but have held the dustpan a few times.
14. Most Bizarre place had sex ( optional)
"bizarre"... nowhere too bizarre. A few 'unusual' ways, with a few 'unusual' people, in a few 'unusual' places, but nowhere I would term "bizarre".
