New Years Resolutions - Page 2

Hiya Will..

I dunno..the only Will I know is my brother, and as far as I know he doesn't dance.....

I mostly dance at Charlton or Welling, and venture occasionally to Bromley, Hammersmith and St Mary's. I;ve been to Rochester a couple of times too (do you think I could be developing an obsession??) I'm shortish with short red hair and black glasses. Ring any bells? Got a sore shoulder?

Well. I did find a new job (project manager in London -> Ceroc DJ in Scotland). Wasn't exactly what I was planning a year ago, but it's definitely the right decision.

Didn't really get to dance more. They need more dance nights in Scotland. Thankfully, that's being addressed

My New Years Resolutions this year are to keep doing well in the studies, and to lose 3.5 stone (and keep it off).

Oh, and to get some more dances with Lily at Bognor

Dear oh dear, can you credit it, a lawyer getting his facts wrong!

Steve you're forgetting about Ceroc at Twyford, where Kate and Amir unveiled there fab new cabaret routine last Friday, and more importantly your forgetting Bisley where of course the music is superb (well I'm a bit biased), and the West Coast Police won't clamp you in chains if you dare to jive.

I admit they may be a bit far for you on a regular basis.

2. To give up dancing . . .

from 2 a.m. on the 7th March until 9pm on the 2nd April. In an attempt to recover from my injury. (Excluding a little gentle West Coasting on Friday's in between spinning the discs.)

3. To cut down drastically on forum usage, a maximum of 1hr 40 mins per week, excluding emergencies, (can anyone define emergencies!

No. 3 could be broken before 6pm on 1st January!

Well. Of course lawyers don't get their facts wrong. They just sometimes have different facts to everyone else!!

You'll notice (when you look again), that this thread has been resurrected from last year, and when I posted that in Jan 2003, there definitely wasn't a night at Bisley (don't know when the one at Twyford started).

However, it's all moot really, since they are all indeed a little far from me now.

You really think that No. 3 will make it to 6pm (or is that building in time for the hangover to dissapate?).

How come that Friday night is the most sparce night of the week for dancing. There's one venue in London, on just south of Gatwick, and none (I believe) in Scotland.

You'd think there'd be more going on at the start of the weekend, surely?

Oi Trampy...Route 66 is on a Friday...only once a month granted, but a friday nonetheless

Mine are, to:

1. Dance more, and maybe travel more to some dance classes and venues.

2. Start studying, French, Chemistry, English literature and Physcology, and also Quality Assurance Auditing and Health & Safety

3. Give up smoking (wont last long...only when I sleep)

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous reply to Mr. Sheepman's post, about my comments having been made in January 2003, and hence, at that particular time, it was rather far for me to come to Route66 on a regular basis (although, I believe that I did attend the night in January).

You will have noticed that I now quite regularly attend the Friday night sessions, and the only way to make me very happy, would be to run them more often (maybe twice a month? - every week might be a bit much for getting down to Edinburgh!)

I couldn't be bothered thinking up my own, but the Guardian website has a great list of 101 of them here . I am well up for 11, 13, and 72, and I will finally manage 99, having managed to avoid it for half of 2003.

I'll replace 40, 42, and 47, which are physically impossible for me, with some general ones about improving my dancing skills, and not letting my dance partner down in any competitions I happen to enter
