Rep Power: 3 Rep.: 874 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Evil Acronyms I was reminded of this after talking to an HSP. Of course doctor's don't use these any more, do they? We are now all far too PC, but I thought they might provide some amusement. Apparently these all used to appear on medical records.LMF - Lacking In Moral Fibre PBM - Poor Biological Material TC - Thin Cortex TATP - Thick as Two Planks CAUC - Complete And Utter C*nt HSP - Heart Stopping Patient (as in "Oh no not HIM again") OWNID - Often Wrong - Never In Doubt GOK - God Only Knows TFBUNDY - Totally F*cked But Not Dead Yet LOLWNAD - Little Old Lady With Nothing Abnormal Detected NFN - Normal For Norfolk (ie TATP) NFS - Normal For Somerset NFR - Not For Resuscitation GOMER - Get Out Of My Emergency Room So are there other professions that can equal this cynicism in their acronyms? Probably not such a common problem is other professions. The best known one used in the IT world is "PEBKAC" – Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. Occasionally you here people talk about "I-D-ten-T" problems... Personally, I feel that as it's these people who are keeping me in a job, they deserve a bit more respect.

Together with WTBH (for marking on work stuff, when I have to be polite. Ish). |
