You most certainly can.

(almost time for my annual "don't let Gadget keep the car keys at the BFG" jibe!! )

The bad news is, I excel at that too.

Sorry, back on thread...

I didn't drink a lot before I started dancing anyway (or at least, not once I was old enough to drink legally), but once I came to Ceroc, I realised quite quickly that here was somewhere where it was not only acceptable to be sober on a night out, it was encouraged and made one better at what one was there to do. Unlike going clubbing, where one has to be drunk to be able to stand in a smokey room full of hormonal teenagers jigging aimlessly to the music without feeling suicidal. So, in the last two years, I've probably had alcohol on fewer occasions than I could count on my fingers - and as a result, I don't feel the need to 'detox' for a month every year, I have never had a hangover, and I have never worried that one day I'm going to wake up with liver damage.

But the problem of venues not earning enough from Ceroc nights remains - and the most obvious solution is to hire venues (such as church halls, community centres, etc) where the organisers can run their own bar/drinks stall. This is cheaper all round - the venue manager doesn't have to pay for the regular venue staff to run an unprofitable bar, the punters get slightly cheaper drinks (and they aren't in glasses, which is usually a good thing) and the event's continuation is not dependent on sufficient bar sales. The only downside to this, IMHO, is that the drinks are never cold enough.
