missing avatars

Posted this in the problems section but not had an answer....My Avatar has dissappeared.....is there a reason for it, or is there something I have to do to get it back.......

Was it a custom avatar and did you have Silver Subscription that has now expired? Might not be the reason but its one possible explanation.

yep, it was a custom avatar, and I've never had silver subscription.

well.. when I joined back in 2003 I had arthur dent looking contemplative as my avatar. However when I rejoined in 2006 I still had Arthur as my Avatar but couldn't change it. I also had a signature that didn't show and couldn't be changed.

Once I paid for silver membership then all these "problems" dissapeared. I daresay if you got an avatar PRE having to pay silver membership for it then it meant you sort of "sneaked" past the security at the front gate (so to speak) I assume that this latest update checks things more carefully.

My avatar has disappeared too!!
I know I've been going to Weightwatchers and have lost 2 stones - I'm gradually getting slimmer but it's a bit much when you disappear altogether!!!

BTW I've never had Silver membership either , but still had an avatar - in fact, I seem to remember that Sheena installed it for me as I haven't a clue when it comes to computer stuff!

You guys who've lost avatars presumably got them before it was necessary to pay for the privelege, and didn't lose them when that requirement came into force because Franck was being nice, while the latest updates have removed custom avatars where a paid subscription is not in place, whether there was one before or not. So, if you want to get your demon back you'll need to pay up like the rest of us addicts

They've been gone a while. I removed them plus all my details in a 'I feel like withdrawing from things' mood and never put them back (I have put some details in though

) I'll maybe find something else for my next avatar.
