"Go to first unread post" ARROW

I have tried searching to see if this question has been answered before but couldn't find it anywhere.

I was just curious as to why some threads have a little arrow next to the thread title which allows you to go straight to new postings rather than have to scroll down them.

Not all threads have this arrow and I was curious as to why some do and some don't.

Not an important question really, just one that has me wondering!

DUH
~slaps her own head

So the moderator that I directly asked this question to was right!

(although don't tell her that for goodness sake!!!)

She said the arrow meant that there were new posts in the thread that hadn't been read but I said that there were some threads that had posts in that I hadn't read either but didn't have the arrow.

Well.... on entering a thread the forum assumes that you will read the new posts so gets rid of the arrow whether or not you do actually read the new posts (which I don't always do)

Blimey she will have me on this one for ages....~laughing
