Fewer instructions than an Ikea flatpack?

Having posted on the forum for months I still don't know how to do basic things like use a quote to start a new thread or use multiple quotes in a reply. I don't know what many of the little symbols mean either. Having found out how delightful it is to receive positive rep (thanks, everyone, much appreciated) I'd like to dish out a bit myself but don't know how. Is there a secret area of the forum that I don't know about that tells you how to do these things, if so where is it? How come you lot all seem to know how to do it?

Any enlightenment gratefully received.

If you go to the FAQ logo on the top bar you willfind some helpful hints....other than that I find a quick PM to an established user who is doing what you want to do will always be returned with friendly advice.

Good luck.

Re: Fewer instructions than an Ikea flatpack?

I'm writing a "user friendly" FAQ on posting that I'll start a new thread with at some point - hopefully people will contribute and it can be 'sticky' somewhere...

Re: Fewer instructions than an Ikea flatpack?

There are a few elsewhere in this section of the forum which I know of cos' I've contributed to them- eg.
Pointing to specific posts
How to split quotes

However the bits I wrote probably give IKEA a good run for their money

DS' post here explains how to give someone reputation.
