Mysterious persistance of Jumps and Drops thread

Hi, have noticed for a while that the thread 'Jumps and Drops, Yay or Nay' keeps appearing at the top of the list, with a new 'last new post date', ie. looking like it has a new post though it doesn't (at least not on my pc). Haven't noticed this with any other thread.

Is it just me?

Re: Mysterious persistance of Jumps and Drops thread

If it's a poll then every time someone votes the last-updated date/time changes, bringing it to the top of the list - but there's no new post to view.

Re: Mysterious persistance of Jumps and Drops thread

I was wondering that - especially as it showed me posting on it recently!

I've seen that a couple of times, maybe it's a bug?

Re: Mysterious persistance of Jumps and Drops thread

Perhaps if it were renamed "'Drops, Yay or Nay' ", it wouldn't keep jumping to the top?

I've seen this sort of thing several times on the forum, and just assumed it was caused when the last poster re-viewed the thread. ESG's reply seems logical though

I claim no credit - I read it here the last time the issue cropped up.

It is the forum software.
I think Franck had already investigated this but I don't think there is anything he can do about it.

Re: Mysterious persistance of Jumps and Drops thread

This behaviour is also a reason why you might want to set an expiry date if you're ever starting a poll.

It means the poll closes for voting on that date, and any subsequent changes to the thread (and changes to the "last changed date") are from real posts.
