Once a week, he had a cooking spot which featured Fanny & Johnny Craddock. One week they were showing how to make your own doughnuts. At the end of the show, bill was doing his closing bits, telling who would be his guest tomorrow etc etc.....and it was then that he uttered those fateful words whilst munching on a doughnut...........and for those of you who are having a go at making your own doughnuts, ...I hope they turn out like Fanny's...... Don't think he ever lived it down, and it was a great source of amusement for us schoolboys ![]() |
