Re: World of Warcraft

Hi.. forget helping me out with the grind for the recipe I wanted.. was reading up last night about the mobs I needed to kill (and couldn't find) .. Reason I couldn't find them was highlighted by one comment on Thottbot..

"Please note you need a Flying mount to be able to get to this area"

ah bummer The recipe is BoP too.. and only appears (apparently) if you're an engineer.

I'll just have to farm in Netherstorm for the Khorium Scope and Adamantite Arrow Maker schematics instead.. until I get my flying mount that is

Re: World of Warcraft

I'm a little confused about which recipe you were after (and can't log in game to check). AFAIK, the only area in Netherstorm that you can't get to at all without a mount is the Tempest Keep area, which are instances anyway (3 5-man and one 25-man) - but you were talking about grinding them?

If you do need to go to one of these, I'll be more than happy to help you out in forming a group (but check that the item you're after doesn't only drop from the Heroic-mode).

No no no.. sorry for the confusion. I'm grinding in Netherstorm normal mods (Sunfury bowers and archers) for two recipes, The [Khorium Scope] and [Adamantite Arrow Maker]

The other recipe I need is from Blades Edge and I need to get to the bit on the map at the far west.. I believe it's the walled off area between the two "forges" .. There I need to grind the mobs to get the recipe for the Raid friendly item [Field Repair Bot 110G] but apparently there isn't a route into there without being able to fly !! But thott has been wrong before.. on many occasions

not done ANY outland instances yet Might have to wait for those until I reach 70

Re: World of Warcraft

Ding 68

have benefitted a little from the silly little dance pole thing currently in cities for the Summer Fire Festival. When you dance round it for each X seconds spend dancing you get Y minutes of a buff that increases Xp from kills by 10% !! (Up to a maximum of 60 mins) it only takes a minute or so (usually when I go to make coffee) and 10% extra Xp for an hour (every hour) really helped me get to 68 faster than I would have done normally.

For you lvl 70's this is of no use.. but I'm sure some of you have a lower level alt somewhere .. and the next best thing? Most horde settlements (or alliance if that's your perversion ) have one of these "maypoles" outside/inside somewhere

Re: World of Warcraft

Nearly there

(Except the Armory is wrong.. I'm not in that guild.. I'm not in ANY guild !)

am thinking when I get to Lvl 70 the game will be pretty much over for me. I know there's a lot to do when you're 70 but I don't want to spend day after day just getting more gold to buy better items to kill bigger bosses to get more gold (Rinse and repeat!)

I might pop in occasionally but my time is limited.. which is why I'm not in a guild and I don't do raids.. I cannot commit to the game.

I'll probably come back when the WotLK is released and start the relentless trek to lvl 80.

Will be quite glad when I get to 70 though.. have not really enjoyed playing the last 10 levels or so.. been a pretty dire slog to be honest. If I get to 70 then I can retire happy and safe in the knowledge I'll be on an even keel with everyone else when the level cap gets lifted

Now Beo, no getting ideas about costumes - we've not got enough storage space in the flat as it is!!

Re: World of Warcraft

I saw the new WoW advert on TV last night (well, I say it's new, but it's the only one I've ever actually seen on TV, so it might not be). In a strange way it was kinda surreal to see WoW on the TV rather than on a computer...

Anyway, I know that Beo is thinking of stopping playing when he gets to lvl 70, and I know that only he can know what his time-constraints are, but I just wanted to say that it would be a shame if you stopped playing .

Well I've bought the game and the expansion pack. Now all I have to do is install and update...

Think I'll be doing that when I get out of hospital. Any hints and tips appreciated

Was that the "mini-me" one? I like it.. Much better than the Shatner and Mr T ones.

Not just time constraints.. I do have a major personal "project" under way at the moment. it's taking up a lot of my time, thought and finances .. and it's only going to get worse (or better depending on your involvement in "the project")

But it's not just that. Once you get to 70.. what is there? Instance after instance after instance after instance? what for? To get better gear to kill things faster and live longer so you can do more instances to get better gear? Raiding is not for me.. I'm free and easy, don't like schedules and timetables in my games. I want to be able to play when I want, where I want, for as long as I want. I wanna pull.. I wanna tank.. heck even sometimes I feel like a bit of melee. I'm my own man..erm.. orc. I'm sticking it to "the man" and saying no to guild life.. to corporate responsibility.

besides. I have been dabbling in BG's recently. Had a few games in AV earlier in the week and was consistantly ranked 1 or 2 in the leader table at the end. I'm as good as I personally am going to get. I've been asked to join a few raiding guilds and have turned them down for the reasons stated above. Basically I've played this game .. got this far and until the level cap gets lifted I can't see anything in it to keep me wanting to play. You get to a level where they only way you can develop your character is to spend more and more money on it and get better and better gear.

see you in a week or so then no it's not that bad.. the updates are not TOO bad.

sure.. start an alliance character then head to orgrimmar and shout "ALL HORDE SMELL!" make sure you have pvp turned on

seriously.. get a few friends round you and play together. It's easier to level when you have different classes aruond. Hunters (my fave) are great once they get to lvl 10 and are levelling monsters. Priests are great but die easy at earlier levels due to low stamina and cloth armor..(but they make up for it quick.. Sparklette is UBER now!)

Don't worry about getting great gear at the early levels.. you'll be replacing it so fast.. (I made that mistake ) you'll get good enough equipment from drops , quest rewards and PvP BG honor rewards (especially if you know a friendly enchanter who's willing to throw in a few free enchants )

But most importantly.. have fun.

btw.. did I ever mention I'm an enchanter?

Better late than never - here's the page I promised I'd send you which may help you decide which character to play (among other things - a couple of days worth of reading on this page alone!): WoW -> Game Info

Hope the op goes (went?) well

getting from Level 20 to 70 will be the fun part and will take lots of long boring solo questing.. so make sure and find a good "noob" friendly guild to help you level up. It's great if you have someone to level up with at or near to the same level as you. Makes the game playable and fun.

Re: World of Warcraft

a little cool hunter news from the team developing WotLK

* Steady Shot will no longer clip Auto Shot, meaning it won't have to be timed, just spammed
* The skill point system of pets will be replaced with Pet Talents, one tree for utility, one tree for tanking and one tree for DPS. The skill points for each pets are being changed to the new "Pet talents" and will disappear
* A new ability will make the pet deal extra 20% damage when on 20% health
* Each kind of pet family will have its own talent tree and its own unique ability
* There are going to be new pets in WotLK

As a dedicated pet care enthusiast (hunter to you and me) ... WooT!!!

And further hunter related goodness.. Healfdene can now make Sporeling snacks.. the only PET BUFF food (Gives pet well fed and 20 sta for 30 mins) all you need is some strange spores (from Zangamarsh) get them while they're still hot !!

Bear in mind that they're not at beta testing yet (although, registration for that is now open if anyone is interested).

All the news on what's likely to be in WotLK is likely to change several times between now and the release...
