DVD issues

I was really chuffed when I found that the Cybertron DVD recorder could (if you use DVD R+.....not R-) convert my video footage to DVD which I could then play on my MAC.

However, it has started to malfunction. Soemtimes works and sometimes does not. When it malfunctions, it produces an error message "Disc not recognised ". It is kept in a cold conservatory and so I wonder whether this problem is due to the cold? How can I clean it?

Is this after you have recored to them? as its possible due to teh speed of the recording etc... Just a thought.. try the lowest speed and see if they still work ....

Try using Ritek DVDs - they're by far the best and, as knightengale suggests, record at low speed.

I think it is an issue with the Cybertron because sometimes it refuses to play even purchased pre recorded DVDs.

I don't know how to clean the machine or if it another variable that I can rectify (cold or whatever).

A standard DVD lens cleaner is usually well worth a try...

Um actually according to the industry standards. Verbatum discs are the best.
Ritec are good for DVD rewriting media but not for Write once media.

Recording at a lower speed helps older machines recognise and read data. So it depends how old your recorder, player and actually the recording disc itself is.

First things first
1 Run a cleaning CD round the player for a few seconds

2 make sure your not interacting with the web at te same time as playing

3 close any other running programmes

4 make sure your not running out of Memory

5 In my experience if your playing it on a MAC the problem is most likely in the recording process so clean that as well
