My SE K700 has a camera I hardly use, as it's only VGA and doesn't have a flash, it has a MP3 player and a radio that I don't use, though I hardly use my iPod either. As I said, I don't much use the email it gives too.

It does have a calendar that synchronises with my Mac, and presumably if I had the misfortune to have to use Outlook, would work with that too.

It's also much smaller than most smart phones...

Do many people use the "smart" aspect of smart phones?

Not quite made the decision yet (procrastination raised to an art-form).

Is it possible to "tag" calender entries as either "Personal" or "business"? So that when I enter a new appointment in either PC Outlook or PDA Outlook only the appointments tagged "business" are synchronised between the devices, and the "personal" appointments remain on the PDA?

Can Pocket Outlook sync the calender with the "home" Exchange Server over the "phone channel" rather than "through" the PC?

Thanks

Clive

To try and answer..........

You can't tag appointments.
You can mark them as private, so any third party who is looking at the calendar will not see the appointments
unless they have full mailbox access - when they can see everything.

With a Windows Mobile 5.0 device and an Exchange 2003 / Windows 2003 server, configured correctly, you can sync over the air. JasJar does this
but you can only sync email, contacts, calendar and tasks.

Get a Windows Mobile 5.0 based device and the same information applies - whether it is in a PDA format like JasJar, or something like the new HTC Star Trek phone, which is a clamshell.

The Star Trek is new not released yet
Have a look here

Or knock yourself out Here

Think that answers your questions

Re: PDA and GPS advice and info

Also what you could do is try the emulator
it is an application that you can run on your desktop that emulates the Windows Mobile 5.0 device

Have a look here

What you can do though, is assign a category to an appointment. Then in Activesync, under the options for Calendar, you can choose which categories you want to sync with the PDA (same goes for contacts etc). I think that'll work?

I'm sure as well, that you can sync over Wi-Fi if you're using ActiveSync 4.0 or greater. Apparently, this facility was withdrawn by MS due to a security concern. I've stuck with 3.8, and that does allow you 'air sync' though.

No....

The ability to sync over the air to a desktop was removed in AS 4.0.
That doesn't affect the ability to sync over the air to Exchange though.
There is no category control, That maybe something available in the desktop version of ActiveSync, but isn't in the Exchange ActiveSync.

Ah right - I don't use ES, I just sync with Outlook on the PC

Yep - definately on the desktop version.

I didn't realise there was another version of AS. It all becomes clear now

Ta WB!

Both *so* cute! I get to change phones in July, and I'm glad there's lots of lovely new windows mobile ones to choose from. I'll never be lured to a Symbian one. Never! (Of course, that's assuming that my current phone stays with me all the way through this BFG.... )

Think that answers your questions
I rarely quote answers in full, but I would like to publicly acknowledge the impact this response has had on my life.

Previously I used to put milk in my tea after pouring the tea. No more! I have also freed myself from thinking that Outlook will solve world hunger.

So .... and Witty the Wise.

Is that enough?
