microsoft outlook

how do i set my internet so my emails go through outlook instead of just my server. I 'm on Tiscali broadband if that helps. i did try & set it up to no avail, but i was probably doing something wrong.

Um...they must go through Outlook if thats what you use to read them and they must first come from your server. You'll need to be a little clearer in what you mean

ok, at the moment i log onto tiscali & pick up my mail there, but i want to open outlook & see them all listed there instead.
does that make sense. no good at IT lingo i'm afraid.

it might be your internet but it's my computer

aha you just need to

add a new account like this...

and use these server names when it asks

incoming email (POP3) pop.tiscali.co.uk
outgoing email (SMTP) smtp.tiscali.co.uk

re: the logon information, do i put in the tiscali logon address? & use the same password?

& the server information do i type in mail.tiscali.co.uk?

There is info on how to set up tiscali with Outlook 2000 here if this helps.

do i have to type POP3 & SMTP mail boxes as mail.tiscali.co.uk or mail.tiscali.com or do i not have to type in the word mail??

guess i'll have to wait till tomorrow & see where my emails go??

Tiscali had a page to set outlook up & i tried it but to no avail, had a couple of goes tonight but have no idea if it works, yet.

thank you for your help, i'll make a note of those help pages & have another go tomorrow.

can't send. check out DY's page & if i can't get it right will ring Tiscali.

on the first page it says go into tools & services, well i have tools but no services in the drop down menu.
