I thought there was a milonga on Wed nights? Is it just an occasional thing?

I would start a thread with a list for Belfast... but it wouldn't be very long!

I've corrected the Tufnell Park thing (duh - - I was there last Weds...), added the Tuesday one, and also added another Saturday session, thanks to Wodge for that.

Re: Tango Classes in London - The List

I've added entries for Ladbroke Grove, Clapham, and Bloomsbury - thanks to CeeCee for that information.

I've also alphabetized the entries within each day to make it easier to find stuff.

I always assumed AT was a tiny niche dance, but counting the list up, there are 40 regular weekly classes (I'm not listing the special or monthly events) - who'd have thought there was so much AT around?

Re: Tango Classes in London - The List

DJ,

I noticed in another thread that you advised against going to Tango Federico's classes - I'm curious as to why?

I've been once and I enjoyed it. The only downside is that he does not have a regular partner, and I cannot gain a picture as to how the lady should look. He does dance with all the followers throughout the classes though.

Well, to be fair, I've not tried his classes, but CeeCee and CL have, here's a description from CeeCee of the "turning point"

The main criticism, as I understand it, is that he teaches patterns not dancing - plus, he has a weird thing about shoes I believe.

(If this turns into a discussion, I'll move it into the "learning tango" thread)

Re: Tango Classes in London - The List

OK, I've now given all the information I've collated on London Tango venues to Minnie, and she's kindly put it on her site.

From www.lyndaslist.com, click on "This Month First Half" or "Second Half This Month" links, then click on the "Tango Classes" link.

Alternatively, click on it directly at:
http://www.lyndaslist.com/tango.htm

Let me know of any changes, but I won't maintain this thread anymore, I'll just maintain the tango web page instead.

Any comments or suggestions for improvements welcome, of course.

This has now been updated, to provide web links etc. - thanks, Minnie:
http://www.lyndaslist.com/tango.htm

As far as I know, this is now the most comprehensive list of AT venues in the London area.
