I'm not sure if it's cos you mentioned the boots - but I don't think they made her feet look "pretty" - even if she was pointing her toes when her feet were part of a leg line it was hard to see in the stiff-soled boots.
I think after seeing that I can see why WCS folks prefer to have the ladies in pants with the flat shoes.
A good find, though, to see the difference

Right, I've looked at every page (at home with a streaming cold) and I'm pretty sure there's no Argentine Tango, or at least none that's still available and I like. I want to show you something that's AT and not a mixture with something else, but might appeal to someone who mainly dances swing or jive.

Maybe this, Gustavo & Giselle in Amsterdam, dancing to 'Don Juan':

Best of the best. Totally musical, free and creative, and notice that although he can throw her in the air for a moment, he can also lead her with just his eyes. The arms are just an anchor, or occasionally punctuation. And I like the audience noises!

Puppy and Geraldine

This was his 80th birthday, in 2005. She is the young starlet. He may not be moving very fast, but he's spent his entire life getting this good. She is just gorgeous.

I think her thought-bubble says "Look at me dancing with Pupi, I'm gonna tell all my students and their grandchildren about this," and his says something like "I'm so happy to be me."

Julio Balmaceda & Corina de la Rosa - Tango-Vals

While I'm on different rhythms, let's have a milonga for completeness (tango but faster): Adrian and Amanda Costa - Milonga. I did a workshop with them once, last spring I think. It was really good, but watching this clip reminds me that when he wanted to show me something, I wasn't sure what to do with my left hand in relation to his hairstyle. I was standing there thinking "how can I possibly go under, and if I go over, how can I hold on?" Now I would know that it doesn't matter because you don't really use that hand to hold on. It just seems like it.

And here is proof that you can dance AT with someone a lot smaller than you - if you're good enough: Silvio Lavia and daughter (she's six).

Yup, even the guys in the shorts

A good example, too, of how using your arms makes your dancing look much more alive. I'm thinking of the girl on the left of the screen (as you look at it) in the front row, compared to the girl in the middle.
