Dance Tutorial Site

I mentioned a little while ago that I was thinking of doing something similar to the wcs move of the week, where I would get a camera to events and get people to demo and explain their fav moves then upload it on to a web site.

I have started to build the website and as it will be mainly used by forumites and other dancers, I thought I would try and get people involved right from the start.

I currently have some web space on a free development server which I am using and will transfer over to a proper server once a name is in place.

For the geeks, it will be written in asp, poss asp.net depending on the hosting options/costs. Will prob run from access DB. might use MS SQL depending, again, on price.

Anyone who wants to help with graphics, code, articles or ideas then either post on this thread or PM me. Will keep an update going on this thread.

Will be alot of hard work and will take time but hopefully will be worth it.

Development site is at: Untitled Document

Re: Dance Tutorial Site

I did not like broken links. I would suggest using something like Net Objects Fusion to design the layout of the site and put up rough content initially. It is quick, powerful and easy to use. Best of all previous versions are avaiable for the cost of a magazine cover disk.

I managed to get a site up with nil knowledge of web site design and coding. Having got the structure right and given the punters something to look at you could get down to the serious business of coding the ASP stuff in appropriate sections.

Or you could just use it to produce a model for your own use only, and build the actual site gradually to match.
