Dance Advertising

Anyone seen any good newpaper adverts / flyers etc for dancing?

I have just put one in the local Friday ad which reads ....

Quote:
DANCE LIKE a Chimp with a broken leg? Mates point and laugh at you in nightclubs? Video of you dancing at a family party ended up on You've been framed? An Introduction to Smooth Jive class might be the answer. Learn to partner dance in a modern way(no sequins need). Funky Fresh music ......location and stuff.... No need to book a place or to bring a partner. A great social night out and a brilliant way to get fit visit ..........

Re: Dance Advertising

I think your ad makes it sound like you only want to attract misfits and clumsy 'dad dancers'.

It might put people off who can dance, but want to try something new.

Re: Dance Advertising

Could anybody pick out your ad from the page from the other side of the room?

My advertising advisor told me to base my advertising on the layout of the front pages of newspapers. Newspapers had been competing against each
on news stands for hundreds of years. They knew how to sell themselves.

Brand name and logo prominent.Consistent layout. People should be able to identify your ads from a distance or quick glance.
Brief punchy headline and a big picture. Show the product.
Only around 1 in 6 will read more than the headline. It must grab your target audience. If your headline works you do not need anything else.
If you do not need anything else you can write your headline bigger. The further away you can read your headline from the better.

Tell them when, where and how much, and your website.

Re: Dance Advertising

Advertising is very expensive though so you have to do what you can within a budget. Even the Radio wants £190 + vat to mention it once a day in their whats on listings for a week.
