I did try but couldn't make myself heard. This teacher has many, many voices in his head, all speaking at the same time. I was just one of those. I'm called "sensible voice No39" or SV39 for short. Unfortunately, "Mad Axe Killers Nos5&6&7&8" were all shouting "KILL! KILL! KILL!" and he couldn't hear me saying 'stay calm and speak with them later'

The conversation practice would be very odd, almost like two different languages were being spoken. That teacher would want those students to change to fit into their class. That is all I'm asking people to do at my classes - change to fit them or stay away.

Your orginal comment was that you dont want people who have been taught differently , I wouldn't use the word 'wrongly' but you can if you like

The above comment suggest you dont want people who have picked up 'bad habits elsewhere' end of.

So for the record would you be happy to have someone who has learnt the semi circle but is prepared to adapt to your style or not have them at all .

ie it would be too much 'effort' /disruption to change them

This may sound pedantic but for a me a fundemental part of ceroc/jive is thats its open to everyone

If you come through the door bouncing 3ft high your generally encouraged to change but NOT turned away

So ... you've got a 400w amplified system at your disposal, all your years of presentation experience and your teacher training ... and they STILL couldn't hear you?? Think that would fail you your LeRoc exam

Having said that .. there is a well local instructor who have taken to leaving the stage and getting-in-the-face of students who didn't give proper regard to the teacher .....

Never follow the herd. It will imply that you can't think for yourself.

This is my policy. I really think that all people who want to learn to dance are fab. However, I consider the whole semi-circle, bouncy, jerky, tuggy thing as a risk to the safety of my customers: especially to their shoulder joints. Therefore I really don't want people at our classes who have been taught badly. That is why I'd rather they didn't come if that what they're going to do. As an HR specialist said to me during a time of change "it's either change the people or change the people".

I don't get grease coming to our classes and never really have done - he started dancing before we opened our regular classes. I've not seen him dancing for years - he's been to the odd event I've run but I've not really watched him dancing recently. I really can't remember how he dances. I have actually danced with him once, a few years ago, and I recollect that he was OK, not a star or a show-off, but not bad - quite a nice kisser too

Funnily enough, the amplification system isn't sensitive enough to pick up the voices in a dance teachers head. Which, I believe, is probably a good thing

Any the price of freedom of expression and non-censorship is .....? Seriously, though they may be some debate about the exact veracity of what actuialy happened .. it has sparked some serious debate. Do you think you have the right to tell them "post somewhere else" just because you don't agree with what they say. A bit draconian would'nt you say old sport?

So, someone comes on here to say what he thinks and Gus says he shouldn't say it because people should be free to express themselves

Hey Gus, why not join the debate rather than stand around on the side-lines commenting on the style of debating?
