Images of dancers

I've just started a dance performance workshop and we had a selection of images of dance movements poses and things to look at.
Then we selected our favourite two. Them working in a group of three we developed a sequence of elements of the photographs the hands, the stretch of the body, the curl or the arm, what ever it was than had drawn us to the origional picture.
Finally we worked together to perform it for the tother two groups.

We developed a really strong sense of connection and I think that using the images to identify what it is you like and to model it is very powerful. The image is in front of you and you sculpt yourself into it and then your group tweaks your movement

Excuisite!
Can't wait for next week but does any one know of a strong collection of online images. These were really classical black and white images featruring very famous dancers of whom I was blissfully unaware...

Dogpile is a meta searchengine, it sends your request to several other search engines.

Click on the images option, below the titles, and type in suitable words.

"Ballet" gives 58,000 images, displayed as results from two search engines as small groups of thumbnails. You have to click on next fast image or next ditto image links for more.

"Jive" gives 8,000 images, some of which seem to a better version of the chair that too many of us have to dance with.

... and some are of a busk in Exeter by Jive! "by Floorplay" - inspiration for a MJ T shirt?

and the webring led me to a Ceroc site I had not previously known.

I did some google advanced searches using suitable search terms but came up with some questionable material, so though to may be better to ask for sites rather than carry on!
Also even the legit sites sometimes made me blush! I searched for classical dancers images photographs
Is that not innocent enough?

Yes unfortuantly I use my lunch hour to browse and if I open up any thing rude a report gets generated and I have to explain it. (Even emails with rude words are quarrentened and Ihave to explain them!)

While every one knows that I'm a dancer and doing this course I would still find it enbarrassing to have to explain some of the images and how I happened to open them!

I'm really enjoying looking at these ones though. Part of my dance course is to keep a diary and I'm cutting and sticking images, thinking about using different gestures, poses and looks in MJ. Its giving me muses, - what better inspiration than looking at some of these classical and phenomenal dancers!
