Neck holds etc.

OK, maybe I'm the only person who does these, but it seems unlikely.

These are when I (as the lead) put my hand on the back of the lady's neck, ether in preparation for a move, or frankly because it looks and feels good, or is, ahem, preparation for hair-pulling or forehead-touching types of move.

So, anybody else use these, or is it just me?

As promised you DID start this thread off after all. Have a good sunbathe did ya?

Anyway, the only sort of neck hold move I have come across is when lady has her back facing the man, he then places his hand on the back of the ladies neck, she spreads her arms out to the sides, man takes a step back and drops her. It takes a reasonable amount of trust to allow him to do this though.

Re: Neck holds etc.

I hold the ladies by the neck when either doing one of the dozens of Neck drop variations or for e.g. the Bow. Hair pulling is nothing I have used so far, though, why do you put your hand at her neck? Can't you just grab the hair and pull violently?

Because you need to slide your fingers into her hair to pull gently at the roots. If you tug violently on the ends you'll get (and deserve) a slap.

I've never had my hair pulled (well, not when dancing)

But I guess it's not that easy when your hair is already tied back.

Yep, lovely, lots of good gossip about Certain Forumites, and a potential new Forumette recruit. Good day's work, basically.

Ah - is that why you've currently got even less hair than me, to avoid this sort of violence?

Anyway, there's lots of neck-hold moves; e.g. the lady-duck-under thingy (I'm so crap at move names), but I was thinking of this hold more as a UCP thing.

For example, in a walkaround, holding the neck instead of the hand / side. I just think it looks a bit cooler in a way...

Re: Neck holds etc.

You started without me!!! It's all too much, cold shower required right away before I've even read the posts properly about stroking of necks, pulling of hair, UCP neck touching.....faint

As well as the little neck massage I received 'recently', I also experienced that move where the man sort of moves his hand round your neck (or is it head? ) with the aim, I think, of making you sort of move your head round in dramatic, and perhaps passionate fashion, does anyone know what I'm on about? If anyone out there happens to be the gentleman who lead this 'recently' also, it was my first time, and you probably found my neck a little tense (and I didn't do a very good job of being either dramatic or passionate)!

Therefore I require more massage please.

OK, I know it sounds weird, but it's really quite effective.

1. Start looking into partners eyes
2. Move closer
3. Hand on back of her head / neck
4. Look more intensely
5. Do a DavidSeducer move, forehead-to-forehead.

Hair-pulling-type actions at this point should come naturally...

Or, at least, that's how it's been described to me, hypothetically of course.

So with whom (apart from ZW, of course) do you do this with?
