Pictures with a dance theme

Have had a cursory search through the archives but other than a Vettriano thread haven't found anything related to dance themed art. So, I suggest that anyone who has a favourite dance related piece of art post here , ideally with a link to an online picture of it.

For starters, I would mention Magill's "First Dance" - see it here: http://www.postershop.co.uk/Magill-A...e-8400912.html

It's a very popular and populist print but I just love the posture of the couple - the 'uprightness' of the man, the angle of the lady's face and neck following his arm. It all just looks so right to me.

I cannot pick a favourite ... but Magill's painting is also here, in excellent company.

Donald Hamilton Fraser has painted a lot of ballet dancers; I can't find an image online of the print I have on my wall but this one is nice too:

Great idea for a thread. I love the dark smudginess of the colouring and the way that because both figures are turned away from the viewer it's as if we're intruding on the intimacy of their dance.
Sorry, art critic mode off now. Did anyone ever see that Third Rock from the Sun episode about artists?

Love the orange one

Here's one I have on the wall in the office (Le Moulin de la Galette, Pierre-Auguste Renoir)- I have been known to drift off into it, when work's a PITA I always find something different each time I look at it, and it makes me smile

Always remember that picture from the front of a catalogue my mum had when I was little. Added a few to contribute myself. Love this thread too.

There are some fantastic Fletcher Sibthorp prints available which specialise in the motion of dance.

His range of flamenco dancers are breathtaking.

Love the flamenco ones, Kev.
