Most original nicknames for fellow cerocers

Look, everybody does it!

When your dancing and the musics loud you just cant hear/remember their name you have to invent a better one for the after dance discussion/post mortem.

There are so many I cant remember all of them and some of them aint exactly PC but theyre meant effectionately eg:

Fred Estair
The Jockey
The Devil
The Hairy Monkey
PyschoPerve
Jack the Hat Mc Vittie
The Man Who Wont Dance With Me

can I risk saying the dodgier ones or will I get killed?

Anyone else got some gooduns?

Re: Most original nicknames for fellow cerocers

Back when I started, my nickname was, I'm reliably informed, 'Shoulders'. No idea whether I have one now.

Oh - and a while back, I Used to Know A Girl(TM) who really didn't want her bf to find out her original nickname for him - which was 'Toffee Bum' (blame it on the wiggle)

Re: Most original nicknames for fellow cerocers

Oh boy - my friend whom I go with have lots of these, had to as we couldn't hear/remember anyone's names when we first started (some we now know their names, but somehow the nicknames are more evocative so they get used in conjunction).

Afraid that some of them aren't that nice! (I'm not a bitch I promise)

Braces
Mr Misery (who is actually more cheerful than his facial expression gives away and is quite charming)
The Cuddly Goth
Kaftan Man
The Demented Dwarf
The Coercer (doesn't lead, coerces you into a move)
Cute Teddy-Bear Guy

Re: Most original nicknames for fellow cerocers

  • Neanderthal Man, Desperate Dan or Ug - all used for the same person.
  • The General (marches you round the floor)
  • Superman (purely down to his t-shirt)
  • Twiggy Starry Skirt
  • Bob (OK, so its actually his real name, but it suits his personality so well that it works as a nickname too! I don't mean that in a derogatory way, my Dad's called Bob)
  • The scary woman
  • John Travolta/Patrick Swayze

I know there's loads of others, but can't remember them right now!

Trying to think what I could have been called over the years

Starting - Mr Apologetic - was forever saying sorry

In between Skippy - was never on the beat, kept getting it all over the place

Now probably Spin Boy - have started doing spins at the same time as my partner, but not all the time

or maybe Lady Boy as I have started to try and learn to follow

DDG (drop dead Gorgeous)
Halifax man (looks like Howard in the adverts)
Paul-with-the-shorts (always wears shorts, even in January)

Can't think of any more interesting ones of the top of my head, although I'm sure there are some.
