First move...walk into your partner

I've noticed alot in freestyle recently that I am following the first move really weirdly, after the twist out as I am being led the rest of the move i'm kinda walking into the side of the man I am dancing with. It's happened a few times and now i'm worried. Help please, x

Re: First move...walk into your partner

Are you perhaps stepping with your left foot as you turn in, or not changing the weight back to it for the pivot back? - as you know, the twist out is pivot on your left to step back right, then weight back to the left to pivot back. The left foot stays where it is, you just turn on it. If the lead is rushing you (and some do) then it can be difficult to commit your weight fully before you follow the lead.

But I dunno - you have so many fab leads up there that can probably advise on this better. I didn't notice when we danced at Chiswick t'other week, but then my lead ain't that good...
