Please another Posh Weekender for Ceroc
Given Swish (posh) weekender has already sold out for February 2012 why oh why don’t ceroc do another posh one.
My partner doesn’t do Pontins , there must be so much demand for such types ?
She can go there I can go to Pontins sorted :waycool:

Newbie question: what's different about a "posh" weekender?
Re: Please another Posh Weekender for Ceroc
Stewart, Metropolis weekender (Jive Addiction, usually the middle of Feb), is a posh weekender in a 4 star hotel. Caroline would love it, plus all the dancing is in the hotel so no need to go out into the cold Manchester February weather, unless you want to of course.
Me and Gav have been the last 2 years and both weekends we've had very nice rooms, the food is fantastic and the hotel is great, especially the cocktail lounge and dining area. :nice:

Why not do a Rockbottoms one? They're in hotels, half-board?

Basically, better facilities (accommodation), plus being fed.
Re: Please another Posh Weekender for Ceroc
There's also Lux, of course.

To be allowed into the dances, the gentlemen must wear white tie and tails and the ladies must wear evening dresses (absolutely no ankles showing).
They relax the dress code for lessons and workshops during the day though. You can pretty much get away with a lounge suit or tea dress.

You oik. Only a pleb wears a lounge suit, or a Tory PM of course.

I merely pointed out that the dress code is relaxed, I didn't say that I'd lower my standards. After all, how can one expect a lady to accept one's proposition of a dance, if one has let one's standards slip? :na:

Running water
Heat
Carpet
Unstained bed covers
Straight coat hangers
No exposed wiring
Lights that work
Some people (seems to be more of a womens thing) seem to like that kind of stuff.

I think Lux fits the bill exactly. It is jointly run by Ceroc TV and Utopia, see http://www.luxweekend.co.uk/.
Lux is billed as "a weekend of pure indulgence set in a beautiful Berkshire hotel. Lux will offer 4 star accommodation, great food and excellent leisure facilities coupled with 3 superb rooms of teaching and afternoon and evening freestyles for up to 600 dancers with - weather permitting - alfresco dancing under the sun and the stars. Throughout the focus is on the provision of the best environment and facilities for you to learn, dance, relax and socialise in".
Check out the website for more information. I think you just might want to join your partner if she decides to go, Stewart

:what:
One day, when I win the lottery....
This costs more than I spend on dancing in a year, and about the same as I spend on food in six months....
Well, I can dream

There are lots of options meghann -you don't have to stay in the hotel so can get a cheap B&B close by and buy a delegate package. Or you can book any one of the freestyles independently and just come into the event in the evening, or Sunday all afternoon from 3pm and evening. :D

Yes, that hadn't occurred to me - thanks :nice:
