I suspect you've gone beyond the point of actually giving a toss about my opinions at this point and I'm getting bored with picking holes in each other's arguments to justify our own, but what the hell:
I thought there was lot of men sitting around in the Blues room and a lot of ladies sitting around upstairs.
Maybe it would be a whole lot worse without gender balancing, but it's my opinion based on my experiences and it is no less valid merely because you hold a different opinion based on difference experiences.
All joking aside SF is a great dancer and good looking and he does get the forumite and non forumite ladies some times i guess 'queuing' for a dance with him. So its better for someone like him if perhaps we had 15% more men, he is never go to struggle for a dance so dont take his commnets to heart
Us meer mortals have to ask or fight for a dance ( i was asked several times but thats nice, i dont find it offensive)
There was alot of men standing around upstairs.
I think the biggest problem is that women, despite being told time and time again, just don't (in general) ask men to dance.
This happens not only at Camber, but at Freestyle events and even freestyle after classes. Yes at Camber it was hard to get a rest as a man, but if you wanted a rest, don't stand on the edge of the dance floor looking like you are waiting to be asked.
The other thing to take in to account is the fact that there is a percentage of women who dance as a lead.
I was told i look like Jack dee by a certain person so thats why i wasnt approached, so with that im going to bed
I smiled at least 47 times this weekend and added move '9 ' to my list of moves
So is it more selfish to want excess women to ask or to want less women so you can only dance with your choice of female?
Both equal in my eyes.
So which was it Stewart?
Pot Kettle Black!
EDIT: Oh Sh1t, i'm on the same wavelength as Trouble!
Lets get the facts straight most people who have posted didnt find a major imbalance
you often refuse me or give me one dance all weekend
I think your referring to a lack of men you want to dance with rather then the numbers and thats a big big difference
There wasnt a lack of men
Im not against gender balancing , this event was not promoted as such and i and many others didnt find there was imbalance
Either women have to book earlier, or they have to pay more, or they have to sit out more dances, or they have to learn to lead.
If you prefer to book earlier, go to an event with gender balancing.
If you prefer to sit out more dances, go to an event without gender balancing.
If you prefer to pay more... well there's a few female-focussed Lindy events in the US that give free entry to men, but I don't know if this will catch on in the UK. Eg:

Remind me where i mentioned that there was a lack of men. Or an inbalance at all.
My point was, that it was just as selfish for guys such as Silverfox to 'not' want an excess of women, so he didn't have to hide or mince very quickly in the opposite direction.
I don't refuse you Stewart and i even smiled when i danced with you too! Your request was 'Can i have one dance this weekend please?' I granted your wish!
Haven't quite made up my mind on the question of gender balancing !
However I would comment that it is often the case that ladies like to book events like weekenders / dances far in advance of men. This does tend to cause problems, as men are reluctant to 'commit themselves' until the last possible moment (nothing new there then ).
The question of gender balancing is apparently causing a few problems for some of the ladies up here in Scotland who are ready, willing and can't wait to book their places at the Scottish Ceroc weekender but are unable to do so until a few more men book their places.
Sweeping generalisation here , but seeing as it's usually the ladies who have to attend to arranging babysitters, dogsitters, and other domestic arrangements in order to go on these events, they tend not to leave these things until the last minute, in order to wait until a place finally becomes available on a weekender, because a sudden surge of last minute male bookings has taken place.
