Here is the "Who's Going Where?" thread for the weekend of 26th/27th/28th June 2009.
---------------------------------------------
How it works:
- Suggest events you personally are interested in attending, in the form "Day - Event - Location".
For example: "Sat - Edinburgh Party (Ceroc Scotland) - Edinburgh (St Stephens)"- The moderators will put these suggestions into a poll - usually around Tuesday.
Note: The poll may include extra options without event details (usually called "Spare", "Space" etc.) which allow the mods to add events in order after the poll is created - but only if no-one's voted on them. So, please ...er... don't vote on them.- People vote, we can all see who's going where, and the indecisive amongst us can decide where to dance.
Note: no advertising: The forum rules about advertising apply - these polls are not meant to allow organisers / crew / friends to advertise events. The moderators will remove any such posts.

It's a bit of a drive for me, but I'm wondering whether this event will be worth a trip North? :
Fri - It's HUGE... (Ceroc Xtra) - Yarm
Love dance, will travel
Fri - Charity Event Jive / WCS - Huntingdon

Sun - going to see BB King at Wembley
(having to drive to Hull the next morning for a meeting is gonna hurt )
wow now that is a good gig to go to one of my all time heros
we saw him at the albert hall about 6 yrs ago they helped him on stage
he sat down and proceded to blow the room away and that was at the age of about 78 now he would be about 84 ish and would still be wonderful
I hope you enjoy this Helen he was fantastic when I saw him a few years back in Manchester. I think he is touring with John Mayall, so you will be in for a definite blues feast. Oh and spot his grandson he is gorgeous.
Saturday - Hyde Park - Hard Rock Calling [ including Neil Young, Fleet Foxes, The Pretenders ]
if you love the life you live then you'll get a lot more done
Wed-Mon - Glastonbury
there seems to be quite a few good things on this weekend but for me its most likely going to be...
Fri - Stokies pure blues night
Sat - Stokies summer solstice party
I may only make one as my friend may have a birthday gathering but looking forwards to both
Friday - R,H&B - a few of us coming through from Glasgow and I can't wait for another of John's excellent sets
Poll's up!
Love dance, will travel
Friday, Saturday and Sunday ....... Dundee Blues Bonanza. Loads of different blues/jazz bands in different venues across the city, all free except for the programme (£2) and this cost and any donations go to two local charities. Going to be a very busy and enjoyable weekend....... there's even room to dance in some of the venues, are you ready cheeks!
Fri - It's HUGE... (Ceroc Xtra) - Yarm
I'd never been to Yarm or that part of the UK before, so its a bit of a venture for me (coming from Glasgow!) If there's any forumites who're going there, or any other dance events in the general vicinity (York, Leeds, Newcastle, Wetherby) can they give me a heads up?
I'm still undecided as to whether to go straight back up to Scotland on the Saturday to be able to make it to say Edinburgh Party at St Stephens, or stick around for a couple of days, maybe do some sightseeing and possibly more dance events on Sat/Sun?
If anyone's got some advice on the above, I'd appreciate it!
Well it was certainly a cracking night. Sorry I hadn't seen this before or I'd been able to offer some suggestions. Great that you made it and I'm sure you will be more than welcome again, still a long line of ladies queueing up to dance with you at the end of the night.
It was great to meet you, it was a shame I didn't get a dance with your dance partner! It was fantastic to catch up with familiar faces (from recent Southport and Skegness weekenders) and dancing with new people I'd never met before, everyone I met there were quite friendly, it made for a fab night!
Thank you very much for the compliment, I was pleasantly surprised the number of times I was tapped on the shoulder everytime I had just finished a dance!
Sending you a PM - I am gutted to only having just found out you're from York! - and I'm on a train from York back to Glasgow, not having done *any* sightseeing of York this weekend, as I didn't know anyone who might've shown me around York
