Has Rocky got his rocks off?

A very well measured post... and I think I saw another one recently...

True: Tor, Andy, JB and Hev Mate... do a fantastic job. They have the smaller market, but hype up the event (as in, hype up the customers and give fab energy to the weekend) and give fab value for money.

All weekenders have overheads, and you cannot expect organisers to do it for nothing.

So pick and choose as a customer.

For me, I do not care what I pay, as long as I get value for money... be it hotel, cheap room or whatever... then good music, good place to dance etc.

I am happy to pay 5p or 500 UKP... as long as I get a fun weekend.

    Take the train yeah right
I can sympathise. When my friend and I went to Breeze my car boot was full of my stuff and the back seat stacked full of her stuff. There really wasn't room for one more pair of shoes! (my car is small thou).

Great thing about hotel weekenders is that you don't have to take half as much clobber thou

Oh, there is always room for one more pair of shoes!

Agree, I like hotel weekenders and Manchester will probably be an easy enough location to get to from NI.

It doesn't really matter how cheap they are, if they're not available.

Metropolis may have better availability and even if it doesn't you can always get a room elsewhere and an event pass/delegate package, which as Rocky said can be done economically.

Probably more important that it is in walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly, which is probably the 2nd best connected railway station in the UK for direct services, and has 10 trains per hour from the airport.

So if you'd prefer not to drive, and you want to spend little time travelling it would be hard to find a better location for a weekend event.

Luckily, unlike the many thousands of freaks you share the M6 with, they're not manoeuvring tonnes of metal at high speeds.

But on the M6, you're protected from the freaks by your own cocoon of metal...it's even got windows so you can moon at the freaks as you drive past. No one plays their ipod too loud or talks loudly into a mobile phone, or in the case of the trains on the central line, *has a wank in the seat next to you.

*well, there was that one exception, but Gav's apologised for that.

Yesterday I sat near a bloke who was trying to light a cigarette by waving his hand and snapping his fingers at it.

I'm picturing the scene now...Everyone in the carriage desperately trying to ignore the nut job trying to light a fag with his fingers. Hiding behind the Metro newspaper they've already read three times, just so they don't have to look up at the nutter and preying to every God they can think of that the nut job doesn't try to start a conversation with them.
