Love dance, will travel
Does anyone have or know of a male and female ticket please? I believe Deerhunter might still have a pair to sell so have pm'd him.... If anyone knows him, could they nudge him to log on please as I don't know if he's got the message! Or if anyone else has tickets, please could they pm me.
Thank you
Just noticed that the venue is an adults only resort.
Well that's one less problem for some people
Observation from afar. If find it both curious yet uplifting that JA's sworn enemy, Ceroc, still permits JA advertising on their Forum. Looking forward to JA returning the favour?
I truly hope this is the case and if not, I sincerely hope that 'us punters' don't have to hear about it!
I hoping this weekender feels fresh and new and all the bitterness and chips on shoulders, have vanished and the punters feel welcome, wherever they dance/ have danced in the past... We'll see

Now this is a different story. A brand new weekender and 'no one' knows anything much about it. The most I've heard, is from your report but how it'll work out as a dance venue will be very interesting indeed.
I'm going and I will endeavour to write a full and comprehensive, unbiased review of the whole weekend on my return.
This will include..
*Check-in and 'welcome'
*Accommodation and distance from venue
*Layout and ease of accessibility to each room
*Flooring
*Bar service
*Quality of music and sound
*Air-con
*Time table (although I do know in advance, I wont be doing many, if any, classes. So you'll have to rely on others for that.)
*The kind of atmosphere created - i.e, does if feel snooty and cold or friendly and welcoming (this will definitely be the most important factor for me. I'm a friendly kinda gal, who likes to be asked to dance and see smiling faces. Too much serious coolness, does my head in )
*The food and service - this will be very interesting for me, as I've never done a 'catered' weekender before and I'm quite looking forward to that aspect of it
So, hows that Trev?

p.s. A lot of my friends are waiting to see what this one is like, before booking up for the September one.
So lets hope that any unexpected teething problems are sorted quickly or at least acknowledged, with a promise that they'll be sorted

On first glance, it sounds like some of the obvious issues with previous weekenders have been addressed - eg. dancers only (no sharing with proles). Also, the "Bluesmix" band looks interesting. Plus, of course, the welcome return of the Fancy Dress theme, which I expect a certain tall person to walk away with
It's a bit light on detail regarding the dance floors / rooms, however? Apparently there are three of them, but are they all under the same roof?
It's also (relatively) close for us Southerners - although I expect the journey to be fairly tortuous in terms of single-lane roads, it looks like you can get there in under 3 hours from London, which is a damnsight better than the average 5-hour marathon to SP.
I hope it goes well.
When I went to see what the place was like I was actually working as DJ for Ceroc Anglia so the dance hall that I was in I imagine will be the middle one of the three. The Blue Lagoon is the smaller of the three. These are both accessible without leaving the building and the larger hall is literally next door.
Goggle it and you will get a good idea of the position and layout of the place.
I did wonder how they manage to play loud(hopefully)music until 4 in the morning without upsetting the neighbours.
I not sure whether I read it right but I think the restaurant is self service which I initially think is a positive.
Travel wise I dont think it should be too much of a problem. If you are travelling via the Norwch area obviously you would bypass that and carry on to Acle on the A47.You then have the choice of the A1064 and some minor single lane roads or you could carry on to Yarmouth and then take the coast road to Caister-Scratby-Hemsby.
I do hope you are not dissappointed.Swish was the only weekender in this area so it is nice to see someone trying to offer another option.

Location is why I've not booked yet - I don't like a long, and complicated/expensive journey from airport to venue (which is why I've not been to Camber for years). So waiting to hear what journey times and costs are like. Also looking forward to the reviews, I'm sure it will be a good event.
