Looks like a pretty good line up to me with something for everyone. Launch show this Saturday should be worth a watch.
I'm quite excited by the line up :-)I agree with all the above and just for fun I'm going to add my own predictions
Edwina will get Anton
Russel or Edwina will go out first
Lulu and Alex will get the public behind them, even if they're no good, even more so, if they are

Weirdly (weirdly because this year's average contestant age is lower than last year), my first thought was "don't they look old"...

Good to see Daisy's popping up again - it kinda makes you smile; welcome back stranger .
First impressions?
For me - a few things:
1. The line up is spot on with a great mix and fewer of those 'super model' types like Lisa Snowden, and last years winner who is now with the Artem (forgotten her name already.....K... ? can't be bothered to Googul it). This means it is will be more interesting on their journey that they go through rather than focus on how good they look.
2. I have a suspicion Russell Grant will not be a patsy and he will not need to resort to gimmicks a la Widdecombe. I think he will play it reasonably straight - and he looked quite nimble and sharp on Saturday. He is shrewd and is rightly in the top half with the bookies.
3. Lulu looked delightful in the clip of training with Brendan (see FB) - and she has a great attitude. I just feel I would love to sit down and have a cup of tea with her and a good chat. Yes - definitely my early favourite.
4. Watch out for Jason - he looked able to move and swing his hips with aplomb. Plus he had that focused approach. Top 4 I think.
5. Early candidates to go: Nancy or Rory? Shame that anyone has to go early doors - maybe they should give them all an extra week and then have 2 leaving......just a radical idea.
6. Anyone know if the voting system has changed again or what the format is?
7. Judges seemed all present and correct although it was extremely harsh of Craig to say what he did about Russell (something like "we won't be seeing you in the Argentine Tango...").
Any thoughts?
hmm. Jason looked quite poor whereas Russels timing and enthusiam were pretty good. Edwina is a cart horse i think
Mmmm, I'm not sensing the Russell Love, I dunno why. He was gurning too much in the group dance, I couldn't really tell if he could actually dance or not.
The thing to remember with the bookies is, they're generally not experts on this area (they're typically sports experts, for obvious reasons), and so they typically set their initial prices based on pure guesswork, then adjust those prices greatly based on the money people actually place. So I'd expect to see large price fluctuations over the course of the series.
Yes, she could move; I'd guess she'll be the Last Oldie Standing.
Yes again - he looked very good, in fact.
I want Nancy to stay, she's so delightfully shallow it's great telly to watch her. Rory's boring as hell, the sooner he goes the better.
Same as last year I imagine.
Having finally watched the first show, I think Jason is going to be fabulous. He looks confident. I'm looking forward to seeing how Lulu and Russell get on...Nancy irritates me, I hope she goes early.
Jason is still my favourite to win.
Russell is brilliant and actually, quite light on his feet...I look forward to seeing him the most.
I want Alesha to go away. I cannot stand listening to her vague non-comments "You told a story from beginning to end" "You stayed in character from beginning to end" "There are a few bits and pieces that need working on", etc, etc.
What are you banging on about you Numpty? What bits and pieces? Why are you there?
He's clearly the best, but he's kind of weird. In a sexless-sex-pest way...
I think it's a shame they're Playing The Gay Card so strongly with him - because, yes, he clearly can dance a bit under all that pink, and I'd like to see him doing that.
Heh, I bet you'll explode in a couple of weeks' time then, Jennifer Grey will be on as guest judge. Replacing Len. Errr...
Nancy and Anton are fantastic telly partially because she is Nancy Dellusional with regards to her dancing, and partially because they clearly hate each other. I expect a few more weeks of N&A being in the bottom two, but staying on as various "bland average" contestants are knocked out (Rory and Erin, maybe Anita and Robin), then leaving once people get bored with her.
Lulu on the Kirby wire, was absolutely gorgeous
Was listening to Bruno on Chris Evans breakfast show this week and I found him to be interesting, articulate and I learnt a lot about his career, which just reinforces my feeling that Alesha really doesn't deserve to be sitting among the other three.
Elton Johns video of I'm Still Standing has had thousands of hits since Bruno spoke about choreographing and appearing in it. Check him out!
