When i was on holiday in America, a film about dance had just come out. Step Up. Unfortunately i didn't get enough time to go and watch it. I do hope it's released here soon.
Edit: October 27th apparently
Couple of films that I'm eagerly waiting for: 300, and Pan's Labyrinth
Anyone else waiting on an upcoming movie that they're desperate to see?

OK.
The three burials of Melquiades Estrada.
(Which you can read about here.)
There hadn't been a classical era historical epic for years. Since Gladiator, Troy, Alexander, dum de dum, now a remake of (curses, can't remember name of clunky 60s epic about Thermopylae).
I don't loathe the films, it's just that as a classical scholar (bashful cough) I get fed up with the way they throw a contemporary sheen over everything. Are they scared that audiences are too dumb for history unless it's sugar coated?
There was more realism in The life of Brian than there was in Troy.
If it were a remake of 300 Spartans, you might have a point. But it isn't.
If it were an attempt to make a detailed historical epic, you might have a point. But again, it isn't.
Personally, I prefer to judge the film based on what it's trying to accomplish, and how well it succeeds - and the jury's waaay out on that, because I haven't seen it (which is the traditional thing to do before deciding what you think of a film, by the way )
The trailer, however, is like nothing I've seen before, and suggests strongly that it's well on the right track (like the Sin City trailers did - Sin City being one of the main inspirations behind the making of this film)
