Coventry on Fri didn't start to well for me, after the sat nav directing us to random different places, i was getting more and more irrate and irritable. We eventually got there after driving round and round cov for ages at about 10:30.
Once there, i recieve a big hug from Fletch - generally puts a smile on my face! Then a big hug from Barmpot too. First dance wih Jamie - was still wearing my big boots from travelling up in, but wasn't really in the right frame of mind to follow, so i kept them on for a while, certainly made dancing interesting (oh, and i made me as tall as Fletch!!)
The evening certainly picked up, and thank you to everyone who danced with me, Fletch, Jamie, Pawplay, Sidney, NorthantsGirly, and to the non forumites too, not to mention the excelent dances i had wih Fletch's children.
Sat evening was spent in Wellingborough, it was Chelsea's 18th Birthday Party. I had a really great night, and lots of dances - hope Chels isn' suffering too much today!!
Just wondering if there is anything local i can do tonight now - to finish off the weekend!!
What is on in Notts then? I can't see anything on the Uk Jive web site - not too far - it depends on what time it finishes
I just did my first proper Birthday Dance!
(Wasn't my birthday, and he's only 12 but for once I didn't run and hide in a corner!)
AND... I've got myself a really awesome dance partner for a demo
What a great night!!
Had a rubbish time last night. Having found my way across Birmingham city centre (whilst trying not to look like a prime mugging target clutching my A to Z) I arrived at the venue only to be told that ceroc had been cancelled was very disappointed.
I got a bus into Birmingham city centre to colmore row and then walked from there to the glee comedy club, it was a lot easier than I expected, but not knowing birmingham at all I felt a little vulnerable wandering through deserted streets whilst reading a map. On the plus side, it was probably worth going as I now have a route worked out for next time. I don't think Birmingham is a particularly dangerous place, I just feel safer when I know my way around.
Wolverhampton Pavilion was awesome tonight. It was just one of those nights where everything seems to go your way. The night started really well for me. I was given the biggest dance compliment I have ever received... and by one of the most talented dancers I have ever led. So I was already on cloud nine!
Then the dances just seemed to flow so well. I hit breaks in the music, played, laughed, joked, danced and just had an absolutely brilliant time. I was feeling really in control, dance after dance. I had a grabby follow who I calmed down by altering to a two finger lead for a minute or so, a really over excited follow who I slowed down to match the speed of the music, and on both occasions the dances that ensued were wonderful. I had lots of asks and I asked a couple of people who seemed nervous about dancing, but we were fine and had cracking dances.
It could have been slightly better, as one of my favorite follows has a busy weekend ahead so didn't manage to make it to Wolves this time - now a couple of dances with her would have turned an amazing night into a perfect one
Saturday freestyle at The J11 Club was so much fun. We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary and Mike gave us the dancefloor for the start of TwirlieBird's favorite track. She looked as gorgeous as always and I was in seventh heaven dancing her round the floor alone
Thank you to everyone I danced with later who congratulated me!
It was a fantastic night that was made even more special by the Ceroc Midlands crew. Thanks guys Ohhh yeah, and thanks TwirlieBird for putting up with me for so long... I know I can be a pain in the (_|_) at times
Congratz Stokie & TB.
I had a fab night last night, was sleep deprived and didn't think I'd make it, but after a bouncy dance I was awake and ready for action. Had some wicked dances.
If I did, it would be on the forum would it not?
Went to the Hippodrome jive nation last night, never been before
It was a great fun night
Nice to have enthusiastic teachers /dancers with a short dance with a stranger slot, I thought it was warm up dance so didn’t smile of course
Felt like you had been to a party rather then the lets just do 3 basic intermediate moves tonight because we cant be bothered to put effort into anything else, you get at some ceroc nights
The music was great too
None of this ive got a CD collection from the 1950 big band era lets play that for 30 mins type stuff
