Hi all,
For travel between London and Birmingham (or vice versa) via Chiltern Railways, you can can get single tickets sent to your mobile for just £5 each way!!.
I understand it's not available on Sundays however, and there are restrictions on weekday train times - but there does seem to be a lot of choice and availabilty.
Plus, you can book up to 18:00 on the day before!
The journey time is longer than the Euston route, taking around 2 hours, but if time is not important....

Any other good travel tips?

During the day, it is cheaper for four people to share a taxi from Durham to Newcastle than for them to take the train. And sometimes, it can save you several hours....
If travelling between Dundee and Glasgow one-way (and the train hasn't been diverted over the Forth Bridge), buy a single Dundee-Perth, and a single Perth-Glasgow. It works out much, much cheaper!
